Anwan Glover is Injured
Anwan Glover, better known as Big G, was allegedly stabbed in an altercation on Saturday night. Sources say he was not actually stabbed but was punctured by a railing of some sort while he clutched with another man.
The incident started during an argument where an unnamed man was hollering in Big G's face. Spit and particles spattered out of his mouth onto G's face, and Anwan was unable to further deal with the disrespect. That is when he allegedly swung on the man, and a fight ensued.
Big G was later taken to the hospital where he recovered from a serious flesh wound but according to him, he came off triumphant. But did he? Did anybody win in this situation where we have a culture being attacked from every side because of the violence associated with it? When the living face of that culture is touched by the very violence he fought so long to escape and squash?
Go-Go didn't need this type of headline, and if the leaders of our beloved cultural inheritance don't get together as intellectual social engineers to foster a way to turn Go-Go's plight around, this thing we call Go-Go Music may continue to live, but we won't be able to see it "Live".
